About Madyn!

Madyn Harris (She/Her) is an extravaganza of everything you would expect from a spunky weirdo who has small town charm and a love for sock puppets! Originally from Hamilton, Alabama, she has spent most of her life advocating for the arts and for herself. Determination fears her!

I recently graduated (a semester early!) from Point Park University Conservatory of Performing Arts with a B.F.A in Self-directed Theatre Arts and a minor in Musical Theatre. During my time at Point Park, I learned almost everything you could think of when it came to theatre, but I always fell back on my three P’s: performance, playwriting, and puppeteering.

Growing up, I spent a lot of late nights switching back between color guard and marching band practice, ballet, voice lessons and any community theatre rehearsal I could get my hands on. In rural Alabama, finding support for the fine arts is near and far, so any theatre I wanted to do had to be outside of school and over thirty minutes away. My childhood and teenage years were spent with my mom in a car, listening to SiriusXM On Broadway and talking about the bright future ahead!

Those late nights, passion and driving around have followed me into my adulthood. I love getting my hands covered with paint because of a new creative endeavor popping in my head at midnight, traveling far and wide for my craft, and making sure that people hear my voice no matter how small.

When I’m not balancing many hats, you can usually find me attempting to sew, being a Disney adult (eek!), party princessing, or living my life just like Unikitty from The Lego Movie.
